Hello friends and family of Southport Little League!
As registration comes to an end, here are a few things to expect in the coming weeks. We have a great turnout so far, and we expect a few more to register to make this season fun! Our board is excited to have you, and we look forward to seeing everyone soon.
The Board of Directors will meet on April 2nd to finalize:
- Team Rosters
- Volunteers and Coaches
- Practice and Game Schedules
- Concession Stand Volunteer Schedule
- Picture Day
- Field and Concession Clean Up days
There will be a coaches/volunteers meeting on Sunday April 14th, and practices may begin on or after the 15th. Coaches will know the practice schedules (for those held in the park). Teams are not required to use these times, but they are the only times you will be able to use our fields. Your team is always free to hold practice elsewhere if that’s what the team agrees to do.
Each team will be assigned shifts in our concession stand. The success of our organization is dependent upon the efforts of everyone involved. In order to provide the best experience for our players – your children, the league asks that all parents be as generous as possible with their time and effort. Sales from the concession stand help cover costs of the season not covered by registration fees. These shifts are required. Without you and your help, we can’t make this happen! It is the team’s responsibility to determine who will help during those shifts, but the board and Concession Stand Manager will be happy to help.

Opening day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday May 4th. Games will begin that weekend and continue until our tentative closing day of June 22th.
